About Me

Who Am I?

As a Counselling Psychologist, I help people to work through issues in a supportive and non-judgemental environment. To me, therapy is a collaborative treatment approach aiming to help people gain a better understanding of themselves and difficulties in their lives, and helping them to develop healthier coping skills, change self-destructive behaviours, resolve painful feelings and improve relationships. I aim to help people live happier, healthier and more fulfilling lives.

Therapeutic Approach
In my therapeutic approach, I do not believe in a ‘one-size-fits-all’ as each client comes to me with individual needs, expectations and concerns. Thus my therapeutic framework draws from various orientations, and therapy is tailored specifically to each client. Therefore I make every effort to design (in collaboration with the client) a unique therapy plan for each client according to his or her needs.

Counselling Psychologist
M.Soc.Sci (Counselling Psychology) (UKZN)
I am a registered Counselling Psychologist in private practice at Chelmsford House in Glenwood. I graduated with a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. My research during this degree focussed on understanding trauma from a sociocultural perspective, and the implication thereof to trauma intervention. During my internship, and before entering private practice, I worked at a remedial school where I gained experience in dealing with a wide range of problems and difficulties experienced by children, adolescents, adults and families.
